ITscope Simplifies B2B Commerce for IT Resellers
Karlsruhe, January 13, 2026 – B2B commerce is gaining traction in the IT channel, but it’s far from being a universal standard. According to a recent ITscope survey of 332 ICT companies, 47% already operate a B2B online shop, 12% are planning one, while around 41% still lack a digital sales channel.

Growing Relevance – But Not Yet Mainstream
The survey reveals a mixed picture of digital sales adoption. While many IT resellers have embraced or are preparing for online ordering processes, B2B commerce remains a secondary topic for others. One-third of respondents consider online shops highly important for their business, while nearly half rank the topic as moderately relevant.
“B2B commerce has arrived in the channel, but it’s not yet a given,” says Oliver Charles, CEO of ITscope. “Companies recognize the benefits but often fail to fully leverage the potential.”

Perceived Lack of Need – Or Practical Barriers?
Among companies without an online shop, 77% claim they currently see no need. However, many cite lack of time, limited resources, or technical complexity as obstacles. “This suggests that the perceived lack of demand often masks practical challenges such as budget constraints, missing know-how, or insufficient capacity,” explains Charles. “Yet digital sales would deliver clear value for these businesses and their customers.”

Lowering the Barrier for Smaller System Houses
To address these challenges, ITscope is introducing the Essential Shop, included in the entry-level ITscope Essential+ package. Designed for small and mid-sized system houses, the solution enables a quick, hassle-free start in digital sales. “With the Essential Shop, we significantly reduce the entry barrier,” says Charles. “The shop is preconfigured, ready to use, and features a centrally maintained product catalog.” This allows system houses to offer customers 24⁄7 self-service ordering of standard products—without additional quoting or maintenance effort for sales teams.
Whitepaper Offers Insights and Guidance
The full survey results are available in ITscope’s whitepaper, “B2B Commerce Reality Check: Where IT Resellers Really Stand in 2026.” It provides an in-depth look at the current state of the channel, common challenges, investment plans, and actionable strategies for system houses at different stages of digital maturity.
