New user interface for ITscope portals going live

Finally! The deve­lo­p­ment pro­cess for the most essen­ti­al fea­tures of the new store­front can be con­side­red com­ple­te. 

From now on, you can deploy ITscope por­tals fea­turing the new user inter­face under your own domain. To do this, you must crea­te a new CNAME DNS ent­ry in your domain regis­trar for the domain that has the .new addi­ti­on. More infor­ma­ti­on on how to crea­te this ent­ry can be found here in the ITscope Guide. The new store­front can also still be ope­ra­ted in par­al­lel if requi­red.

To do this, sim­ply acti­va­te the new store­front in the por­tal admi­nis­tra­ti­on area of one of your cus­to­mer’s por­tals via the Setup tab. After acti­vat­ing and ente­ring the CNAME DNS record, the cus­to­mer will be redi­rec­ted to the new user inter­face and can now place orders via a respon­si­ve appli­ca­ti­on interface.

If your cus­to­mer is not yet able to – or does not want to – work with the new user inter­face, you have the opti­on to deac­ti­va­te the new store­front for the time being and con­ti­nue to ope­ra­te your por­tal with the lega­cy user interface. 

But bewa­re: in the cour­se of this year, the lega­cy user inter­face will be com­ple­te­ly repla­ced by the new one. We have set the fol­lo­wing sche­du­le for this:

30 May 2022: The new store­front can be ope­ra­ted with your own domain.

01 June to 30 September 2022: As a por­tal ope­ra­tor, you have the oppor­tu­ni­ty to get your cus­to­mers accus­to­med to the new store­front, pro­vi­de us with valuable feed­back and ‘move’ your por­tals step by step.

30 September 2022: The lega­cy user inter­face will be com­ple­te­ly dis­con­tin­ued and the 2^nd gene­ra­ti­on of ITscope por­tals will be ful­ly rol­led out.

In future, the new store­front will have an API inte­gra­ti­on that allows expan­si­ve cus­to­mi­sa­ti­on opti­ons. Take advan­ta­ge of this oppor­tu­ni­ty to try out the new user inter­face for your cus­to­mers and gain expe­ri­ence ope­ra­ting the newest gene­ra­ti­on of ITscope portals.
