ITscope Simplifies B2B Commerce for IT Resellers

Karlsruhe, January 13, 2026 – B2B com­mer­ce is gai­ning trac­tion in the IT chan­nel, but it’s far from being a uni­ver­sal stan­dard. According to a recent ITscope sur­vey of 332 ICT com­pa­nies, 47% alre­a­dy ope­ra­te a B2B online shop, 12% are plan­ning one, while around 41% still lack a digi­tal sales channel.

Growing Relevance – But Not Yet Mainstream

The sur­vey reve­als a mixed pic­tu­re of digi­tal sales adop­ti­on. While many IT resel­lers have embra­ced or are pre­pa­ring for online orde­ring pro­ces­ses, B2B com­mer­ce remains a secon­da­ry topic for others. One-third of respond­ents con­sider online shops high­ly important for their busi­ness, while near­ly half rank the topic as modera­te­ly relevant.

“B2B com­mer­ce has arri­ved in the chan­nel, but it’s not yet a given,” says Oliver Charles, CEO of ITscope. “Companies reco­gni­ze the bene­fits but often fail to ful­ly levera­ge the potential.”

Perceived Lack of Need – Or Practical Barriers?

Among com­pa­nies wit­hout an online shop, 77% cla­im they curr­ent­ly see no need. However, many cite lack of time, limi­t­ed resour­ces, or tech­ni­cal com­ple­xi­ty as obs­ta­cles. “This sug­gests that the per­cei­ved lack of demand often masks prac­ti­cal chal­lenges such as bud­get cons­traints, miss­ing know-how, or insuf­fi­ci­ent capa­ci­ty,” explains Charles. “Yet digi­tal sales would deli­ver clear value for the­se busi­nesses and their customers.”
