Karlsruhe, September 29, 2025 – The majority of system integrators and IT service providers rate the digital maturity of their procurement processes as only average. This is the result of a recent survey conducted by ITscope GmbH.

“While some companies are already working with highly automated processes, others are still relying on simple invoicing tools or even custom-built solutions,” says Dr. Oliver Charles, Managing Director at ITscope. “But the real driver is not just the choice of ERP system—it’s the integration into procurement, service, or accounting. Only connected processes make the real difference in digital maturity.”

Procurement: Progress Made, but Room for Improvement

On a scale of 1 to 10, most respondents rated themselves between 4 and 7. Only a few consider their processes fully digitalized, while around two percent reported not using an ERP system at all. These companies rated their digital maturity significantly lower than the average—an indication that the absence of ERP solutions can quickly become a bottleneck.

ERP Landscape: Concentration on a Few Systems

Despite the wide variety of solutions in use, the majority of mentions concentrated on just a few systems. Both survey responses and ITscope customer data were taken into account. International standards such as SAP and Microsoft Dynamics are particularly widespread, as are industry-specific solutions like Systemhaus. One, MKS Goliath, or c‑entron. Established systems such as weclapp also play an important role, while custom-built solutions represent a niche at around three percent.

Integration as the Key Factor

The survey also highlights that the ability to integrate with other applications is a decisive measure of digital maturity. Companies that connect their ERP with procurement tools, webshops, or service solutions assess their processes as significantly more digitalized.

“Integration is the most reliable indicator of digital maturity in system integrators today,” explains Oliver Charles. “Where interfaces are consistently leveraged—for example, via an ERP integration that synchronizes prices, availability, and orders directly with ITscope—efficiency increases significantly along with competitiveness.”

Whitepaper with Detailed Results

The full evaluation of the ERP survey has been published by ITscope in a dedicated whitepaper. It provides a comprehensive overview of the systems in use, their functions, and their integrations within the system integrator and ICT market.

Methodology

The results are based on a survey of 202 ITscope prospects and customers. In addition, ERP data from 229 existing ITscope customers was included. While not representative of the overall market, the survey offers valuable insight into the current status of the ERP landscape in system integrators and the ICT channel.
