In an inter\u00adview, we pre\u00adsent the advan\u00adta\u00adges and dis\u00adad\u00advan\u00adta\u00adges of e\u2011mobility.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">In addi\u00adti\u00adon to the opti\u00adon of coming to the office by job bike or train, it is also pos\u00adsi\u00adble to dri\u00adve an elec\u00adtric car as a <strong>com\u00adpa\u00adny car<\/strong>, if the posi\u00adti\u00adon permits.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">The com\u00adpa\u00adny cars can be con\u00adve\u00adni\u00adent\u00adly char\u00adged in our <strong>under\u00adground par\u00adking gara\u00adge<\/strong>, which is equip\u00adped with two char\u00adging sta\u00adti\u00adons. Many employees also have a <strong>wall\u00adbox <\/strong>at home. To get an insight into the pros and cons of elec\u00adtric cars, our Senior Customer Success Manager <strong>Jonas Castello<\/strong>, ans\u00adwers some ques\u00adti\u00adons about his expe\u00adri\u00adence with elec\u00adtric mobility:<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #333333;\">How long have you been driving electric and with which model?<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">I have been dri\u00adving an elec\u00adtric car sin\u00adce May 2021, i.e. for about <strong>one and a half years<\/strong>. First I had the<strong> ID.3<\/strong> from VW, now I dri\u00adve the suc\u00adces\u00adsor model, the <strong>ID.4.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Where do you charge your car when you're not in the office?<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">At the gas sta\u00adti\u00adon in the <strong>neigh\u00adbor\u00ading town<\/strong>. I always take the dog with me, park the car, walk the dog for an hour in the forest, let the car ful\u00adly char\u00adge and then dri\u00adve home again. I actual\u00adly also have a char\u00adging sta\u00adti\u00adon at home, but the elec\u00adtri\u00adci\u00adan who is sup\u00adpo\u00adsed to con\u00adnect it is very boo\u00adked&nbsp;up.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #333333;\">How long does it take to fully charge an electric car?<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">That varies depen\u00adding on the char\u00adging sta\u00adti\u00adon: the\u00adre are fast char\u00adging sta\u00adti\u00adons, nor\u00admal char\u00adging sta\u00adti\u00adons or the nor\u00admal socket at home. The home socket has 11&nbsp;kW, so the car can stand the\u00adre for five to six hours.&nbsp;At fast char\u00adging sta\u00adti\u00adons, such as tho\u00adse on the high\u00adway, it takes about an hour for the car to be ful\u00adly charged.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Have you ever been on vacation with an e-car?<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Even <strong>twice <\/strong>alre\u00ada\u00addy. The first time I was in the Allg\u00e4u with the ID.3, which also had a small bat\u00adtery with a ran\u00adge of about 280&nbsp;km. That was, shall we say, dif\u00adfi\u00adcult: My fami\u00adly said after\u00adwards that they would never want to dri\u00adve elec\u00adtric again. You can just tell that elec\u00adtro\u00admo\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adty is still in its infan\u00adcy and it takes some plan\u00adning to make ever\u00ady\u00adthing run smoothly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Our second vaca\u00adti\u00adon was to the North Sea. That was almost <strong>1,000&nbsp;km<\/strong>, but the out\u00adward jour\u00adney went real\u00adly super. We arri\u00adved wit\u00adhout any major inter\u00adrup\u00adti\u00adons, were able to char\u00adge fle\u00adxi\u00adbly at every bath\u00adroom break, and the trip was very plea\u00adsant overall.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.75;\"><img class=\"lazyload\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"height: auto; max-width: 100%; width: 1300px;\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns%3D%27http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg%27%20width%3D%271300%27%20height%3D%27650%27%20viewBox%3D%270%200%201300%20650%27%3E%3Crect%20width%3D%271300%27%20height%3D%27650%27%20fill-opacity%3D%220%22%2F%3E%3C%2Fsvg%3E\" data-orig-src=\"https:\/\/14508099.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net\/hubfs\/14508099\/Jonas_eAuto.png\" alt=\"Jonas_eAuto\" width=\"1300\" height=\"650\"><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">The return trip, howe\u00adver, was unfort\u00adu\u00adna\u00adte\u00adly much less rela\u00adxed: Many char\u00adging sta\u00adti\u00adons did not work, indi\u00adca\u00adted char\u00adging sta\u00adti\u00adons were not yet rea\u00addy, and the elec\u00adtri\u00adci\u00adty that was indi\u00adca\u00adted did not arri\u00adve. Our lear\u00adning from our expe\u00adri\u00aden\u00adces is that plan\u00adning is the be-all and end-all of electromobility.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #333333;\">What advantages do electric cars offer you?<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">In addi\u00adti\u00adon to the important argu\u00adment of cos\u00adts and taxa\u00adti\u00adon, which are much more attrac\u00adti\u00adve with an elec\u00adtric car than with a com\u00adbus\u00adti\u00adon engi\u00adne, I have found that an elec\u00adtric car is real\u00adly gre\u00adat for <strong>com\u00admu\u00adting<\/strong>. I live about 40&nbsp;km from Karlsruhe and it\u2019s real\u00adly ide\u00adal for my com\u00admu\u00adte. And I\u2019m also someone who likes to be the first to try out new things \u2013 inclu\u00adding electromobility.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Conclusion by Jonas:<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">For my com\u00admu\u00adte or a short trip on the weekend, the elec\u00adtric car is real\u00adly opti\u00admal for me and also the dri\u00adving fun does not come too short! For lon\u00adger trips it needs a litt\u00adle more plan\u00adning, but then it runs gre\u00adat \u2013 so over\u00adall a <strong>real recom\u00admen\u00adda\u00adti\u00adon<\/strong> from my&nbsp;side!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">You are not only inte\u00adres\u00adted in <strong>elec\u00adtric cars<\/strong>, but also loo\u00adking for an exci\u00adting job in an inno\u00adva\u00adti\u00adve com\u00adpa\u00adny?
