WEEE and ElektroG - what are they all about?<\/h2><\/div>

The Elektro- and Elektronikger\u00e4tegesetz (ElektroG) by the European WEEE direc\u00adti\u00adve regu\u00adla\u00adtes how elec\u00adtri\u00adcal devices should be brought to the mar\u00adket, taken back, and envi\u00adron\u00admen\u00adtal\u00adly dis\u00adpo\u00adsed of. The law aims to redu\u00adce elec\u00adtro\u00adnic was\u00adte, con\u00adser\u00adve resour\u00adces, and decrease envi\u00adron\u00admen\u00adtal pol\u00adlu\u00adti\u00adon cau\u00adsed by hazar\u00addous sub\u00ads\u00adtances. According to the ElektroG, com\u00adpa\u00adnies are only allo\u00adwed to sell elec\u00adtro\u00adnics if they are regis\u00adtered with the Elektro-Altger\u00e4te-Register (EAR) foun\u00adda\u00adti\u00adon and have a WEEE num\u00adber as a result.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Who needs a WEEE number?<\/h2><\/div>

The obli\u00adga\u00adti\u00adon to regis\u00adter and obtain a WEEE num\u00adber pri\u00adma\u00adri\u00adly appli\u00ades to manu\u00adfac\u00adtu\u00adr\u00aders and importers of elec\u00adtri\u00adcal and elec\u00adtro\u00adnic devices who bring the\u00adse pro\u00adducts to the German mar\u00adket under their own name or brand. However, if retail\u00aders and dis\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adtors are clas\u00adsi\u00adfied as manu\u00adfac\u00adtu\u00adr\u00aders becau\u00adse they offer or assem\u00adble devices under their own name, they must also register.<\/p>\n

ITscope veri\u00adfies all offers on the plat\u00adform, ensu\u00adring that you exclu\u00adsi\u00adve\u00adly purcha\u00adse from mar\u00adket par\u00adti\u00adci\u00adpan\u00adts who\u00adse pro\u00adducts have been pro\u00adper\u00adly regis\u00adtered with the EAR foun\u00adda\u00adti\u00adon. Offers that do not meet the requi\u00adre\u00adments will no lon\u00adger be available on ITscope. Therefore, obli\u00adga\u00adted manu\u00adfac\u00adtu\u00adr\u00aders and retail\u00aders must have their cur\u00adrent data stored in their ITscope pro\u00adfi\u00adle. This includes the WEEE num\u00adber, com\u00adpa\u00adny name, and pos\u00adtal code.
